The Honky Tonk Harlot came to be when she
got bit by the Cowboy Action Shooting bug and joined SASS in 2000. After
attending a monthly cowboy shoot with her favorite Bandito, Taquila Tab, she
was hooked on cowboy shooting and needed to find out who she was. It did
not take much thought as to what she wanted as her alias after she
watched the movie Bad Girls. Her favorite character was Cody Zamora The
Honky Tonk Harlot who was a lady of the night, an outlaw and pretty much
a woman no man would want to double-cross.
The Honky Tonk Harlot travels the country
side with her man, Taquila Tab, and a band of outlaws, the Alamo Kid and
Triple T, all commonly known as the DGB’s. Wherever they go, they are never
forgotten and have made many allies who would gladly protect them from those
who would hang them. When it is necessary for her to hide from the law, she
will change her appearance from a lady of the evening, commonly seen working
in local saloons and occasionally playing a friendly game of poker, to her
prim and proper self as a glittery and flashy B-Western lady complete with
fringe and sequins. This character always seems to distract the ever
trusting men in any town that she travels to so that her band of outlaws can
successfully rob the Bank and continue on their way.
Don’t let her beauty fool you. Honky Tonk Harlot is armed to the teeth!
She is known to possess two pairs of 4 5/8" barrel stainless steel Ruger
"Baby" Vaqueros in .32 caliber. They are usually loaded with .313"
diameter 100 grain round nosed flat point bullets in front of 2.5 grains of
Winchester 231 powder and Federal small pistol magnum primers in a .32 Smith
& Wesson Starline brass case. Don’t be deceived by the small caliber. Her
rounds are “dead-on balls accurate!” (It’s an industry term).
The pistols are holstered in a two-tone custom Buscadero gun belt and
holster rig fashioned by Dennis Yoder back east in the Pennsylvania Dutch
country.
For a rifle she is packing either of two 20" 1892 Cowboy Competition model
.38 caliber Marlins worked over by Spur. Both rifles have Manatee's Grabber
sights added to insure accuracy. The rifles are usually loaded with .357"
diameter.147 grain truncated cone bullets in front of 3.2 grains of
Vihtavouri N320 powder and Federal small pistol magnum primers.
Her choice of a scattergun is either a Stoeger 20” coach gun side-by-side
12-gauge or a side-by-side Stoeger Uplander 12-gauge with a 26” barrel and a
single-trigger. She wears a Kirkpatrick Leather shotgun belt purloined from
Just Wild Bill to hold the Winchester AA shells for these babies.
